Laura joined Caribbean Catalyst Inc. in 2007 and during her tenure to date has worked on a number of senior level recruitments at the local and regional level.
Prior to this, Laura was employed within the telecommunications sector as the Human Resources/Office Manager for Cellular Communications (Barbados) SRL, trading as AT&T/Cingular Wireless. In this capacity she was responsible for establishing the human resource function within this medium sized start-up operation.
She was also the Human Resource Manager within one of the island’s largest conglomerates for nine years. While so employed, she operated as a human resource generalist and was involved in all areas of human resource management, including advisory services
Laura has gained a Masters in Business Administration (Distinction) from the Cave Hill School of Business and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill.
She has experience in conducting recruitments at all levels for various organisations (local and regional). Laura has assisted in the development of performance management systems, developed policies and procedures and employee handbooks incorporating labour legislation. Laura has experience developing and administering Employee Opinion Surveys in various industries. She has worked on organisational restructuring projects, developed job descriptions and specifications, conducted GAP Analysis and administered and interpreted various psychometric assessment tools. Laura’s clients include: GraceKennedy Group, Eric Hassell Shipping, Caribbean Export Development Agency, St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) and Central Bank of Barbados.
